Audio: ‘Such Quiet’ with chaffinch.mp3

I thought I’d try and add an audio file this morning, but, unfortunately, WP do not allow such files in the free app!

I’ve been able to work round this with an upload to Google Drive and thus the link above.

I hope it adds another and useful dimension to this blog, as I’d like to continue working in audio from time to time.

The audio file above is the reading of last night’s poem, Such Quiet, written in the stillness of approaching dark.

What it beautifully expresses is the uselessness of words in capturing life and fixing it in place as Truth.

Words are only ever of a very particular context, a place and time. Change anything and the words no longer mean.

Listen and hear me struggle to read of song thrushes and wrens as this morning’s chaffinch obliterates the memory of last night’s ‘quiet’.

Let me know if there’s a problem with accessing the audio file and if you’d like more such readings.
