Nothing is so beautiful as Spring

image

Moss
The wet rock
How still the air.

Turned earth
Strewn stones
A single fern.

The forest deep
Weighted
For silence.

The green bloom
Spring leaf
Illumination.

Listening
A darkening world
A new moon.

Rain charged air
The viscous membrane
Coughs.

So quiet
Nightfall
Breaking waves.

Memory
The trick of the past
A deer barks.

Wondering words
Damp
The paper splits.

There is knowing
Just here
The rain starts again.
