Lonely leaves fly
Listen to the dawn.

Winged prophet
Rainbird early
Wet later.

Still air
Soft drone
All life is gathered.

Green encircles
No way out
I seep into the trees.

Morning’s minion

The green shines
Burnished by wind
Velvet oak.

His industry lightens my work.

Sun come
Sun come
Come on!

Warming morning
Unwashed body
This human animal.

Earth and sky
Cut the world in two.

Closed eyes
Sounding infinity.

This deep fresh morning
Wood smoke and sweat.
