Now this is nothing new!
DT Suzuki made much of the links between Meister Eckhart and Zen in his, Mysticism, Christian and Buddhist and Pure Land Buddhism also, incidentally.
But what is being offered is not an old idea of comparative theology or philosophy even, but the living expression of what is given too mankind as the ultimate expression of life.
Eckhart’s ‘Gelassenheit’ (releasement) contains two aspects, a voluntary disappropriation and impoverishment, and an original liberty as basis of being. This double aspect is both legislative and manifestative of Gelassenheit – i.e. “You will detach yourself” and “To be of the nature of God. “
Which is to say (otherwise); kensho and satori.
These words above are few, but perhaps they have already said too much?
